Alesia is originally from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and currently resides in Denver, Colorado. She earned her Masters of Professional Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology. She began working with children in 2008 as she began pursuing her undergrad in early childhood education. In 2013, she began to substitute in her public schools as she attempted to become a teacher. She was lucky enough to receive a long-term assignment in an SPED EC classroom. It was during this time she realized she enjoyed working with little ones who needed just a little more support. She was later recommended to be a 1-1 with another child in a different school. From there, she stayed with that elementary school for 2.5 years. While working with a little girl with Aspergers she lead social skills groups. One child in her group made amazing progress. In 2016, she moved to Colorado where she began to work in the field of ABA as an RBT. She has been working in direct therapy for four years, but have been working alongside young learners for over 10 years now. Indiana will be the third state she has lived in. She grew up in Myrtle Beach, SC after returning from Germany where her dad was stationed. She never thought she would wind up in Indiana, but she is very happy with this choice. She has close family in Ohio, where she would visit every summer to see her grandparents, aunts and uncles, and her cousins. She will also be closer to her longest time best friend from middle school. In her spare time, she can be a bit of a nerd! She used to participate in fighting game tournaments in local venues or at majors around the country. She also loves to work out. She participates in a kickboxing gym that also specializes in training fighters through MMA. She loves to lift because it makes her feel strong. When she is home, if she is not playing games or watching nerdy shows, you can probably find her in the kitchen baking. Old recipes or new, you name it and she will bake it!
